Simple Harmonic Motion
Working with a buddy, try these four Problems
- Kinetic Energy to Oscillation
- Energy of a Displaced Pendulum
- Robin Hood Swing
- Masses and Springs – TURN FRICTION OFF when running this
- What is the mass of the Red Mass?
- What is the mass of the Green Mass?
- What is the gravitational field strength on Planet X?
Motion Detector Data
I used the motion detector to gather data on the position of a moving the object. The program calculated the velocity and acceleration for me. Thanks, Señor Program. Get the data here.
Welcome to AP Physics!
This is going to be a great semester.
Happy Physics-ing!!

Walking the Walk Competition
Today you will be competing against all of your classmates in the
Graph Matching Challenge!!
First step: In the Chrome browser download all of the files below and save them to your desktop.
You will be using the motion detector and the LoggerPro software to try and match your motion to each of the six graphs as close as possible. When you are finished, a score will appear on the top of the graph. The lowest number wins!!
Make sure you save your best scores to submit to the national leaderboard!! The national leaderboard can be found on Mr. Hosey’s website.
